Under the guidance of the VP, Operations this position is responsible for the procurement and delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients, excipients, supplies, and equipment for Fagron Services North America Minneapolis with a total annual spend valued at over $10MM. The individual will ensure highest quality of materials are delivered with lowest cost while fully adhering to all internal and external regulatory and customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities
Lead the purchasing team to execute sourcing strategies, ensure continuity of supply, and deliver cost savings at or above targets.

Provide input to sourcing strategies and develop internal/supplier relationships that extract maximum value from the current and potential supplier base. Ensure that local purchasing practices and strategies are continuously challenged and refined.

Plan and direct in a time sensitive manner the overall domestic and international kogistics management program for the organization.

Develop a deep understanding of supply markets and drivers for key commodities of the compounding industry – APIs, excipients, supplies and equipment

Lead supplier selection process and negotiate purchase orders and contracts

Ensures compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, DEA, and other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, and processes

Drive development of cost savings/value add initiatives and ensure consistent tracking to support the local and global KPIs

Continuously evaluate and assess supplier performance reports consistent with agreed to requirements to ensure Aconsistency with quality, service and delivery targets

Lead Improvement projects and represent procurement in Improvement projects in collaboration with tactical purchasing

Coaches direct reports to establish annual goals, development plans and long range objectives from a professional and business perspective.


Set yourself apart


Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 5-8 years overall business and/or purchasing experience.
CPIM, CPSM or other supply chain certifications are desirable
Excellent project management, facilitation, interpersonal and negotiation skills
Ability to think strategically and globally
Financial acumen; high degree of ethics
Ability to build strategic supplier and internal relationships
