The Maintenance and Janitorial Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment for all employees and visitors. This role involves routine cleaning, minor repairs, and maintenance of the facility, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
Janitorial
- Perform weekly cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas.
- Empty trash and recycling bins and transport waste to designated areas.
- Restock cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.
- Tasks will include dust, cleaning chemicals, and loud equipment.
Maintenance
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs and provide timely solutions.
- Light grounds maintenance as required.
- Maintain records of work orders, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment and systems.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment; order replacements as needed.
- Provide recommendations for equipment updates and improvements.
- May require working outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends to address urgent maintenance concerns.

Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in Janitorial work and/or maintenance preferred.
- Basic knowledge of building systems and tools (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work both indoor and outdoor, potentially in varying weather conditions.
Core Competencies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical electrical and plumbing systems.
