SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely and effective implementation of all company policies, procedures, and activities involved in assuring the quality of our products. Follows established standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements. Performs independent and collaborative tasks within a team environment. Supports operations to ensure product and process quality. Provides support in creation of reports, protocols, and SOPs. Demonstrates technical understanding of all quality systems. Shift is 7:00AM - 3:30 PM, M - F.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Demonstrate strong technical understanding of methodology and quality systems in a compounding pharmacy environment. Specific duties for the position include maintenance of investigating and correcting quality related issues in an Investigation System including CAPA, Customer Complaints, OOS, and Deviations in MasterControl.
- Provides daily quality support under medium supervision.
- Collaborates with senior and associate members of the pharmacy on all quality systems.
- Drives input for continuous improvement activities, including internal and external metrics, through participation intra- and interdependently.
- Leads consistency in productivity, teamwork, and metrics.
- Adheres to all applicable procedures, company policies and any other regulatory requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Stay up-to-date on current regulations and guidelines related to compounding and pharmacy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree (B.S. in an Applied Science or related field) a plus
- At least 3-5 years related work experience in Quality Unit
- Pharmaceutical industry work experience a plus
- Chemistry background/work experience a plus
