Purchasing Director

We are looking for a Purchasing Director to manage the company’s supply of products and services. This position will oversee the Purchasing department as well as strategize to find cost-effective deals and suppliers. This position is responsible for establishing a cost-efficient procurement policy aimed at keeping the cost for the company as low as possible.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Optimize spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
  • Devise and use fruitful  sourcing strategies
  • Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
  • Collaborate with other departments and other sites to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
  • Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
  • Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
  • Examine and test existing contracts
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
  • Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements

Ihr Profil

You possess the following qualifications, background and abilities:

 Required education and experience:

  • Experience working within the pharmaceutical field
  • Experience managing a department
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • 8-10 years of supply chain or purchasing experience

 

 Preferred education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree is supply chain management, logistics, or related field
  • Prior supervisory experience
