We are looking for a Purchasing Director to manage the company’s supply of products and services. This position will oversee the Purchasing department as well as strategize to find cost-effective deals and suppliers. This position is responsible for establishing a cost-efficient procurement policy aimed at keeping the cost for the company as low as possible.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Optimize spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
- Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies
- Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
- Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
- Collaborate with other departments and other sites to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
- Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
- Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
- Examine and test existing contracts
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
- Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
Ihr Profil
You possess the following qualifications, background and abilities:
Required education and experience:
- Experience working within the pharmaceutical field
- Experience managing a department
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
- Strong negotiation skills
- 8-10 years of supply chain or purchasing experience
Preferred education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree is supply chain management, logistics, or related field
- Prior supervisory experience
