We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in the Austin, Texas office!  In this role you will perform a variety of routine accounting functions with significant focus on General Ledger accounting.  This position will be responsible for providing support to key activities such as month-end and quarter end close, account reconciliations, and audits. 

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and yearly close processes
  • Prepare journal entries including fixed asset and prepaid monthly allocations
  • Confirm all monthly recurring expenses are booked
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts, matching A/P and A/R
  • Review financial information for accuracy, correcting/explaining omissions and/or discrepancies as necessary
  • Respond to vendor and customer inquiries as needed
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts based on accounting standards and government regulations
  • Prepare audit schedules and retrieve documentation in support of internal and external audits
  • Review, make proposals for improvement and document accounting processes and procedures
  • Maintain an organized repository for vendor invoices
  • Process accounts payable invoice entry, by matching purchase orders and requesting approvals where needed
  • Work with purchasing and receiving team to resolve purchase order discrepancies and monitor products received, not invoiced
  • Process employee expense reports
  • Support accounts receivable and assist with collections as necessary
  • Support cash applications for A/P and A/R as necessary
  • Conduct bank reconciliation, correcting discrepancies
  • Report Sales Tax
  • Maintain an organized W-9 Repository and issue 1099s yearly
  • Other duties as assigned

Distinguez-vous !

You possess the following qualifications, background and abilities:

Required education and experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 year’s accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Working knowledge of cost/inventory accounting
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent data entry skills with high degree of accuracy, efficiency and confidentiality
  • Effective organizational, stress and time management skills
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member

Preferred education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Accounting experience at a company with physical inventory
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with MS Navision or D365
  • Experience with using dropship vendors
